FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Astro Communications are looking forward to its 20th attendance at the IT Directors Forum on board the Arcadia.
Astro Communications Limited are looking forward to attending the IT Directors Forum 2015 (ITDF) run by the Richmond Events in what will be their combined 20th visit to the event.
Kent, UK 1st March 2015
Between Steve Smith, Founder and CTO and Steve Hodges, MD of Astro, this IT Directors Forum 2015 trip will be the 20th time they have stepped aboard the various cruise ships that have been used for ITDF spring, autumn and City IT events.
For those of you who have not heard of the event or have had the opportunity to attend either as a delegate or a supplier the ITDF matches key suppliers in the industry to IT budget holding decision makers from some of the UK’s leading businesses and organisations. The event takes place on board a P&O Cruise ship which leaves Southampton early evening on a Wednesday and returns very early Saturday morning.
The focus of the event for Astro is a series of 30 minute meetings with potential or existing customer’s that run through each day. However, there is also a fantastic networking opportunity over breakfast, lunch and dinner where delegates and suppliers get to relax, discuss IT challenges of the moment and catch up on industry developments. There are also a number of social events on board ranging from a Casino to sporting challenges and Karaoke.
Speaking about previous events Steve Smith commented “Each year the IT Directors Forum provides us opportunities to engage with potential clients that we would simply not be able to get any air-time with through any other means. Over the years Astro have been lucky enough to go on to engage in business activities with many contacts we have met on board and now have many long-term relationships with them.”
“What is unique about the event is the mindset that almost everyone on board arrives with. It is hard and fast networking in the day, serious discussions about a range of technologies in the breakout sessions and fascinating insight from the keynote speeches. While at the end of the day there needs to be some commercial benefit to attending, however, it is not about selling or presenting services, it is about building rapport, getting to understand what is going on in the industry and understanding if there is an interpersonal or organisation fit that will work for everyone’s benefit” Concludes Smith.
This year Astro are looking forward to hosting a fantastic mix of new contacts and existing customers. Along with the mealtimes and the networking sessions there will be the chance to catch up with friends old and new. Astro will end the week with our traditional ‘impromptu’ drinks party before dinner hopefully followed by watching the sun come up over Southampton water!
