Astro’s response to COVID-19 has been to seek the advice of official sources from the outset and follow the guidelines provided.
Astro has continued to maintain its high standards of cleanliness of the office and has supported our staff in ensuring they have everything they need in order to comply with the guidance. We have also appointed internal Account Manager, Megan Spillane, as Corona Virus Officer to keep up with the news and advice for businesses and make recommendations to the leadership team as appropriate.
As a result, Astro’s offices will remain open and we will continue to attend our customer’s sites as required until instructed to self-isolate.
In addition, International business travel for the staff is completely restricted until further notice. Despite the US Travel restrictions our North American Team are able to reach our US-based customers should it be required.
Anybody starting to feel the effects of cold or flu type symptoms has been instructed to advise their line manager and self-isolate for the duration. We have adjusted our Human Resource documentation in support of exactly that. People will be given the option to work from home if they are experiencing symptoms.
From a practical perspective, Astro has always ensured that our business continuity plans enable us to deal with incidents such as the current Corona Virus without disruption to the business. We have an entirely cloud-based operating platform from CRM and the nature of our business means we are prepared to work online.
Our security provision enables all members of staff in the business, regardless of role, to be able to function from any location. Our cloud-based contact centre solution also enables our service desk team to operate fully from disparate locations .
While we continue to function in standard working practices, we are safe in the knowledge that if for any reason we decide to close the offices or if any members of staff for health reasons are required to work at home, we will continue to maintain our excellent standards of service for our customers.
In addition to this, Astro is also working with any customers who required any additional support to facilitate remote working or home working for their staff as they too deal with the consequences of the current situation.
I can report that for Astro it is business as usual with a heightened sense of awareness and our usual first-class level of focus on our team and our customers.
