Astro Communications Ltd appointed preferred IT partner for Pride of Britain hotels
Astro Communications has been appointed at trusted advisor and preferred IT partner for Pride of Britain Hotels at their recent AGM.
Kent, UK 1st June 2014
Following a recommendation from Elite Hotels for whom Astro currently look after a range of IT and communications services, it was recommended to the group that Astro be a first port of call for IT-related requirements such as Wi-Fi, infrastructure, internal copper and optical fibre cabling, phone systems, cost savings on phone lines and calls, internet access, wide area networks and IT support contracts.
Pride of Britain Hotels is a ‘not for profit’ organisation that belongs to its member hotels comprising a collection of 50 independent, mostly family-owned, luxury hotels in some of the most beautiful locations around the British Isles. Each has its own distinctive style and character but all of them are run by people with a passion for hospitality and service excellence.
The management of the consortium reports to a board made up of member hoteliers, currently chaired by David Morgan-Hewitt, Managing Director at The Goring.
Hotels range in size from just 12 rooms at Maison Talbooth in Essex, a member since the consortium was formed in 1982, to over 140 at Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire, the setting for a number of famous films. Many of the properties in Pride of Britain stand in extensive grounds, such as Hartwell House in Buckinghamshire, Gravetye Manor in Sussex and The Lake in mid Wales.
Commenting on the appointment, Steve Hodges, Managing Director, Astro Communications said “we are absolutely delighted to be recommended to the hotels that make up the Pride of Britain consortium. We have a long established relationship with Elite Hotels and we are very grateful for the recommendation. Pride of Britain hotels have a set of professional standards and approach to customer service in the hospitality industry that has a great level of synergy with the way Astro approaches IT and communications. We look forward to serving many more of the establishments in the group over the coming years.”
Steve Smith, co-founder and Technical Director, Astro Communications went on to say “The complex nature and lay out of these fantastic buildings constantly provides challenging and exciting problems to overcome from an IT perspective. This, coupled with the ever increasing technology demands of their customers means that a standard “one size fits all” approach to service delivery simply does not deliver the outcome the hotels require. Our approach to problem solving and overcoming technical challenges is so very different to most organisations in our industry that I believe we can add some genuine value to Pride of Britain.”
“We are very excited about the opportunity this presents us to make a real difference to the customer experience at some of the most fabulous hotels in the country” concluded Smith.
