Astro Technology Group is delighted to announce that their Chief Executive, Steve Hodges, has been selected as a finalist in the highly prestigious Institute of Directors, Director of the Year Awards 2020 for the London & South region.
Steve has been shortlisted in the Director of the Year – SME up to £5 million category and the judges were looking for a business that can show outstanding initiative, boldness and imagination in the enterprise, as well as sound management practices.
Steve said of the announcement, “To be shortlisted alongside such talented individuals in my category is a real honour. I’m delighted the IoD, an organisation I have always held in high regard, recognised the contribution I have made to not only the continued success of Astro, but the development of my entire, dedicated team. We have been undergoing an exciting transformation programme for the last few years at Astro, both with the team and the services we deliver to our customers; to have the stewardship of this recognised by such a professional and reputable establishment, in support of the feedback we get from customers and staff, is incredibly rewarding indeed”.
This is the latest in a string of successes and developments for Steve Hodges personally and Astro as a company. Steve was a finalist as Executive of the Year from the Internet Service Providers Association in 2017 and Astro were named Business of the Year at the Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards in 2016, made the Megagrowth list in 2017 and 2018 and then went on to be named one of the Top 20 SME Culture Leaders in 2018. 2019 saw them become finalists at the World Communication Awards first ever Culture Change Awards – an award that recognises organisations that are best progressing in transforming cultural attitudes throughout their business.
“There are many perfectly reputable IT industry awards that recognise some excellent technical achievements amongst our peers; our awards over recent years centre around growth, culture and leadership and they, for me, are the building blocks of a fun, sustainable and progressive business. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone who has played a part in achieving these, but I think this one tops it off for me personally.” Steve concluded.
