Astro Communications releases its new monitoring and alerting platform, AstroMAAP, to further enhance its managed service offering and bring a new level of support to its customers.
1st September 2014 – Today, Astro Communications launches AstroMAAP, its newly developed monitoring and alerting platform. AstroMAAP can monitor a range of elements across customer networks including servers, both physical and virtual, switches, routers, firewalls and the connectivity and networking links that join them all together. All of the information is delivered back to the dashboard which is accessed via a web interface that customers can access from any browser. There is also a smartphone and tablet app that enables customer and Astro’s support and management teams to have easy access to real time performance data on the move.
AstroMAAP integrates and AstroASSIST, the in-house developed service management tool launched earlier in the year for an end-to-end managed service tool set for customers.
Commenting on the launch of his latest solution Stuart Burgis, Head of Systems and Development said: “I am delighted with the functionality and usability of AstroMAAP and the benefits it will bring to our customers. We have tailored our solution to meet the needs of all our customers, the highly configurable thresholds and sensors enable us to monitor a verity of network and infrastructure assets with alters that are specific to location they are in or the user impact of their functionality.
AstroMAAP is designed both for customers who want to keep an eye on their network themselves as well as the Astro service desk and engineer staff. Burgis went on to say “At its most basic, AstroMAAP produces a map of the territory in which the assets are located and each device or link has a graphic that is red, amber or green depending on its performance against the individual thresholds set. At its most complex it provides detailed real time and historical data that enables us, as a managed service provider, or the customers, to trend network usage or hardware performance in order to conduct capacity planning and building for the future.
Steve Hodges, Managing Director of Astro Communications concluded: “AstroMAAP takes our managed service offering to a new level and actually sets us apart from many of our larger competitors. I am extremely pleased that the team have done such a professional job delivering this solution for our customers. Initial demonstrations have been very well received by our customers and we are already looking at future developments and enhancement. It is yet another aspect to our business that demonstrates our customer focus and our ambition to change the nature of the way IT and communications services can be delivered to businesses.”
