FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Astro accepted as a member of ISPA
Astro further develops its position as a UK ISP by being accepted as a member of the Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA).
Kent, UK 20th May 2015
For over 30 years Astro has been designing, delivering and managing networks for medium and large organisations across the UK. Taking the natural next step of becoming an Internet Service Provider (ISP) last year further developed Astro’s position in the market, strengthening its ability to provide services to customers that were both high quality and cost effective. Astro’s decision to apply for ISPA membership was based on the desire to play an integral part in the influential association at the heart of internet service provision in the UK, and to both benefit from and contribute to the excellent work it undertakes.
As the UK trade association for providers of internet services, ISPA brings together members of the UK internet industry, providing essential support through innovation, knowledge and experience in order to benefit the UK economy and society at large. Promoting collaboration and constructive dialogue between its members and the wider internet community, ISPA is an all-important driving force for the industry.
Steve Hodges, Managing Director of Astro commented: “Astro plays an important role in the IT and communications industry and has done for many years. Our decision to become a B2B ISP in 2014 means we are now in a stronger position to play a more proactive, contributory role within the industry. We applied for membership to ISPA and are delighted to have been accepted into the association.”
Astro plans to take full advantage of the benefits of ISPA membership, helping to influence the industry through shaping public policy, being part of ISP specific discussion groups and getting involved in events and awards. “It’s a very exciting time for Astro and our membership of ISPA further strengthens our position in the industry to the benefit of our many long-standing customers” concluded Hodges.
