The Kennel Club is the UK’s largest organisation dedicated to protecting and promoting the health and welfare of all dogs. Besides being a voluntary register for pedigree dogs and crossbreed dogs, they offer dog owners and those working with dogs an unparalleled source of education, experience and advice on puppy buying, dog health, dog training and dog breeding.
They have sites in London and Aylesbury.
The Challenge
The Kennel Club was opening a new building in Aylesbury, which provided them with the perfect opportunity to reconfigure the Wide Area Network with their existing London site. They were also looking for expert guidance on a Firewall solution, but found that their existing supplier was extremely expensive.
The Solution
After visiting the new site, Astro put together a full plan for The Kennel Club. We talked through the options available to them at every stage and our cost-effective solution underpinned secure, resilient connectivity between their Aylesbury and London offices, as well as remote access where needed.
We have implemented a highly available pair of firewalls in the two geographic locations to protect their network. We have also provided a solution that will enable a more flexible and dynamic provision of connectivity for when the organisation undertakes events such as Crufts and the Discover Dogs show at Excel, London.
Our service doesn’t stop with the installation though, we are providing a fully-monitored, managed service to The Kennel Club. This will ensure that in the event of a partial failure or, in the very unlikely case of a total loss of service, our 24×7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) will be alerted and will be able to respond immediately.
